Aluminium is third most abundant element on earth. Yet 2/3 of the all aluminium produced ever produced is still in use today. Because aluminium can be recycled infinitely, without compromising any of its physical or mechanical properties or reducing its quality. |
Additionally, aluminium's lifecycle provides enormous effeciency when it is recycled. Recycling aluminium costs %95 less energy compared to producing primary aluminium. You can read that as recycling aluminium can be realized with only 5% of the energy required producing same amount of it from ore.
Aluminium recycling consists five stages:
- Collection of scrap
- Sorting scrap
- Crushing
- Breaking and Remelting
- Casting
